KUCHING:  Today, Plaza Merdeka Shopping Centre entered the Malaysia Book Of Records for the second time in two days after  throwing out the nation’s largest amount of ‘unhealthy’ day-old Sarawak laksa.

“I don’t know why but Sarawak Local Government Minister Datuk Dr Sim Khui Hian and Chef Wan couldn’t be here for today’s ceremony,” said a Plaza Merdeka Public Relations strategist pouring spoiled laksa down a storm drain, “doesn’t a mall getting into the Malaysia Book Of Records twice in a week count as a record in itself?”

It is understood the fifteen cooks who spent 18 hours yesterday preparing the 1.3 metre laksa bowl, set a record for using the most amount of buckets to throw out 1,500 servings, and Plaza Merdeka won a third award for most tragically wasteful food-related VIP photo opp.
