PM Ruling Out Snap Polls A Sure Sign He Is Committed To Calling Them, Experts Say
BERLIN: Today, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak gave his strongest signal yet he was preparing for March 2017 snap polls after he took the time to officially rule them out.
“UMNO chiefs are now rushing to get the party’s political machinery ready for snap polls now after the Prime Minister’s official denial,” said political insider Abdullah Abu Bakar, “there’s no surer sign Najib is committed to an early election than by publicly denying one will happen.”
“Most Malaysians know whenever officials make overseas statements, they are the opposite of what’s actually happening!”
In a separate statement, the PM also told German reporters Malaysia would be cooperating with the US Department of Justice’s 1MDB investigation.
