PUTRAJAYA: Hours after not-answering questions about the mysterious RM2.6 billion donation into the PM’s bank accounts, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi warned political funding reform is needed more urgently than ever.
“If the opposition receives their own ‘foreign donation,’ the government is in danger of being ousted next election!” said a soruce, “What if Beijing donates billions to DAP ? Or the US decides to donate billions to help PKR or PAS buy votes. If they had enough funding, they could win in a landslide!”
“Now that the govt has been caught buying votes with foreign donations, we need funding reform to make it illegal for the opposition to do it. Buying votes is only fun when we’re doing the buying!”
