Move to KLIA2 or else we start building KLIA3 AirAsia told

SEPANG: In a tersely worded statement, the government today threatened ungrateful low-cost carrier AirAsia that it would start constructing KLIA3 immediately unless it moved into KLIA2 next month.

“We don’t want to have to overspend billions lining our pockets while building yet another expensive airport 70KM from KL, but if we have to, we will,” said a Malaysia Airports Holdings spokesman.

Proposed KLIA3 runway sold by a leading politician to the airports authority last week.
Coincidentally, Ideal land for a proposed KLIA3 runway was sold by a leading politician to the airports authority last week.

“It’s stupid to think that the airport is only safe if all the cracks are eliminated.  If we let ourselves get worried by a few cracks, we would have to close almost every flyover, building and bridge in the country!  Once AirAsia moves in, we can patch up any problems on the go with only minor damage to the AirAsia’s competitive standing.  CEO  Aireen Omar needs to seriously consider, who is more important here? AirAsia customers or the government?”

KLIA2 features patented “Aero Pockets” designed to release trapped wind from the buildings and structures as they settle. Similar Aero Pockets are safely used in many Terengganu buildings today.

The Prime Minister commenting on the impass said,  “Now is not the time to talk about sensible LCCT migration strategies, passenger safety and airport cock ups damaging AirAsia’s reputation.  It’s time for someone to start paying higher landing fees on this expensive airport we just built without coordinating with the only airline that makes it feasible!
